Dear Mr. Hartley,

Although it was a long time ago, I remembered reading the Viking Process, it was an excellent book. I really enjoyed it and will probably pick up another copy. I think it would also make a great graphic novel and movie. All the best-

Matt. For a curious technical reason I didn't see your comment initially. Sorry not to have responded sooner. I'm delighted you enjoyed the Viking Process and hope The Saxon Network will also entertain. Kind regards Norman

Dear Mr. Hartley,
Shadowplay has always been one of my favorite books and I am thoroughly enjoying The Saxon Network. I can't wait for the sequel! Your main characters are always very likable and I'm glad you depict women in such a positive way. I agree with the other post--your novels would make terrific (and believable) movies.
I wish you all the best and look forward to reading more. You've given me hours of reading pleasure--thank you!

Gail, Thank you very much for your kind comments. The sequel to the Saxon Network is well under way. I'm going to start blogging soon about its progress.I'm especially pleased that you find my women characters positive. I have two daughters and when they were growing up, I tried as hard as I could to prepare them for what was - and mercifully no longer is - a man's world.

Norman, You may not remember me, a budding journalist from your days at The Globe and Mail but I remember you. Your biography does not mention that you are first and foremost a wonderful and caring human being who makes a difference on this planet. You have always been one of my favorite role models.

Dear Norman,

Really enjoyed the Saxon Network. I may be mistaken, but were you not an actor, back in the day? Thanks for the pleasure your work has given.

Glad you enjoyed The Saxon Network, Alan. The sequel is coming out in October. The actor is only my namesake. I was a Reuters correspondent and BBC editor - never on stage I'm afraid!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Saxon Network, thrillers are not my usual choice of novel but I am a changed woman! Can't wait for the sequel. I love the character development, you really get to know them and I look forward to finding out what happens next.

Dear Norman,
I had a look at the summary about your last book "Saxon Network".
It is interesting and related current events. I liked it.
Have a good chance.

Sorry Norman,
I made a mistake about your last book. I left a comment About "The Saxon Games" but I wrote wrongly "Saxon Network"

Norman while playing with my phone to pass the time while the clouds passed I came across your web site. I think it must be at least 40 years since we last met. At the moment we, my wife and I, are in Cannes for a few weeks. I was in Durham last year and meet the new Hatfield Master, I was thinking of going to the reunion this year but realised that I probably wouldn't know anyone so decided against it.
I hope you are well, by your continued writing you appear to be. I must say I admire your diligence, personally I tend to go to sleep immediately I sit down in front of the computer. I learned to sleep sitting up with my eyes open while attending meetings in my last year's of work. A real and necessary talent.

Let me know how you are, there are not many of us still standing.

Bob

Norman, I need a postal address for you. I am a Godfather to Jane, and have allowed numerous birthdays to pass without recognition I would like to pay up..
I have bought all your books and have not much left to read. Best wishes,
Keith

Norman, I need to know, within my lifetime, what I did, that was so fiercely bad as to be unforgivable a half century later?

Norman, it would be good to know, within my lifetime, what I did that was so fiercely bad as to be unforgivable, half a century later?
best wishes,
Keith

It would be nice to know, within my lifetime , what I did in 1968 in Positano that was so fiercely bad as to be unforgivable;?

I am relieved to have your letter. That was just me being paranoid again. I will write again when I am clear what I want to say.

Although it is still true that as Joanna's Godfather I feel in arrears.
best wishes
Keith

Keith, I am totally mystified by your comments. I bear you absolutely no grudge. I had even forgotten that we were together in Positano. My recollection is that we simply lost touch when you separated from Jane and moved to California. By all means email me at [email protected] but please do explain why now? What has happened that you suddenly want to be in contact again? Best wishes Noirman
